On the Inauguration

I am struck today by the enormity of what is happening about 15 blocks from my house. The changing of the guard, the inauguration of a new American president is an amazing event. Democracy at work. It’s simply beautiful.

I’ve had the privilege of traveling around the world to many countries over the last handful of years… and nowhere can I find a process that matches the awesomeness of how America handles its leadership. To think that we the people have made this event happen is awe-inspiring. And the fact that a man of color is stepping in for the first time in our history hadn’t really hit me till today. To see the faces in the crowd of people who are truly inspired by this is so cool.

A change is definitely at hand… not easy days ahead, but a new beginning for sure.
